Kids’ Kitchen Assistant Volunteers will be focused on providing an engaging experience for our children’s programming and inspiring a love for locally sourced food with our participant families as well as assisting program leaders with prep work, serving and clean up.
The Chef’s Assistant Volunteer position will be a dual role–ensuring a positive experience for program participants at demonstration based programming as well as assisting the program leader with prep work, serving and clean up. Working closely with our program leaders, Chef’s Assistant Volunteers will use commercial grade kitchen equipment and learn professional serving principles.
Volunteers serve on the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region Board of Directors, local leadership councils, and other decision-making committees, manage programs, and chair activities.
