We are looking for an experienced teacher or tutor to volunteer as our After School Program Tutor. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with up to 15 children. Responsibilities will include preparing and teaching one-hour classes that will meet weekly throughout the school year.
Help in general maintenance at the Harbor Light Center. We are always looking for someone to help us to maintain this great old building. There are projects going on all throughout the year and can range from helping in repair to cleaning both inside and out.
As a volunteer in the kitchen, you will be helping prepare food for Harbor Light Center residence, our homeless population and staff. You can also help us with serving meals in our cafeteria as well as helping with clean-up.
A Gym Aide will be one who will provide supervision, monitor and handle disputes of participants, coaches and parents. Aide will ensure that all equipment will he maintained and inventoried on a regular basis. This volunteer will work on along with other Aides and managers in the gymnasium.
The Basketball Coach should be a friendly individual with experience working with children, specifically in an organized sports setting. Basic basketball competencies required.
Draw pictures and designs on faces of children during the health fair. This will be in three-hour shifts between 10:00am and 3pm. Supplies, i.e. paint, brushes and clean up supplies will be provided. by the Salvation Army. Persons signing up for this event should enjoy working with children of all ages.
Academy of the Arts Assistant will assist staff with teaching of fundamental and advanced techniques to whatever level of student enrolled in a class, and camps.
