East Texas Food Bank

The East Texas Food Bank, located in Tyler, very much relies on Volunteers to help us with their mission.  Over 10,000 volunteers logged more than 61,000 hours in FY2016, helping provide 21.8 million meals. There are several ways you can volunteer at the East Texas Food Bank, including:

  • Salvage/Reclaim: sort, inspect and package donated product that is received into the East Texas Food Bank.
  • Repack Room: pack bulk dried products such as beans, rice, cereal, pasta, paper products, etc. into smaller quantities.
  • Backpack Program: help produce easy-to-open bags of nutritious food for children across East Texas.
  • Senior Box Program: put together boxes of food for seniors that are at-risk of hunger.
  • Office: help with office and administrative support.  Filing, data entry, light typing, photocopying and other duties as assigned.
  • Warehouse: assist warehouse staff with various duties
